The last notes of the Umbra et Imago anniversary concert have rung out and I wanted to thank you for letting us celebrate this very special occasion together with you.

Regrettably this also means that the time has come to announce that Saturday was my last day as part of Umbra et Imago.

For 16 years I have been a member of the band and its vision and experienced the highs as well as the lows at Mozart’s side. Together we survived crises, we fought, we laughed, we hoped and we most certainly partied…

Together we must have written close to a hundred songs and we played countless incredible concerts; initially in small club venues and later in large concert halls, both at home and as far away as Mexico, Chile and Russia.

I will always remember this time and carry the memories in my heart for the rest of my life.

Now the time has come to say good-bye so that I can give both myself and Umbra et Imago the chance to develop and progress. As a team we unfortunately no longer manage to do this and we’ve had to realise that our musical aspirations have developed in different directions.

Although this decision started to take form in late spring, Mozart and I remain friends and we decided together on the best point in time to start going our separate ways. The anniversary concert seemed a suitably grand occasion to commemorate what we’ve created together and to bring the chapter of my time with Umbra et Imago to a memorable close.

I would like to thank all of you who have supported us over the years for giving me this amazing opportunity and leaving me with such wonderful memories. I hope that my work occasionally managed to make a small contribution to your life…

Most of all I would like to thank Mozart and the rest of our musical cohorts. We have walked a long road together… Thank you for the incredible times we’ve had as Umbra et Imago!
